Timeline of Accomplishments

  • 1965 - Revamped Wham-O's Flying Saucer created by Walter Frederick Morrison to invent the Frisbee
  • 1976 - Left Wham-O and founded DGA (the disc golf association) with the purpose of formalizing disc golf
  • 1977 - Invented the first disc golf "pole hole" target
  • 1979 - Worked with fellow disc golfers to codify the official rules of disc golf
  • 1982 - Handed off the PDGA to be run by the players
